Ed Gordon Bounces to Prime-Time

Preeminent journalist, Ed Gordon has been in the industry for a long time, three decades to be exact. Gordon is a veteran of BET, CBS (“60 Minutes II”), MSNBC, NBC, NPR and he also contributes bi-weekly commentary on Steve Harvey’s radio show.

Now added to his resume, on Tuesday, September 13, the longtime journalist will premiere his news magazine show, 'Ed Gordon', on Bounce TV, marking the cable network’s first venture with a prime-time news magazine format. Gordon serves as executive producer and host of the new Bounce TV original series.

"I am just really excited about the idea of doing a news magazine program," said Gordon. He continued, "It is something that almost every stop I ever made that was African-American owned wanted to do, a news magazine program, and for one reason or another, we just never did. When Bounce TV came to me and talked to me about this, I jumped at the chance. I love the fact that we're going to be able to do this kind of show and I am very pleased with the premiere and the lineup that we have."

Airing one episode per quarter, each show will be divided into segments, telling the stories of our community. On the series premiere, Gordon has a candid, emotional conversation with members of Mothers of the Movement (the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant, Jordan Davis, Robbie Tolan and Michael Brown). Gordon will also interview Nate Parker and the cast (Gabrielle Union, Colman Domingo, Aja Naomi King and Aunjanue Ellis) from the highly anticipated film Birth of a Nation. The premiere episode concludes with the segment called "Five Minutes With," a one-on-one interview with singer-songwriter, producer, and actor Maxwell.

Gordon's new show will feature revealing interviews with top headline makers,entertainers and pop cultural figures. Ed Gordon will also include investigative pieces, celebrity profiles,current event segments and human-interest feature stories. Be sure to tune into 'Ed Gordon', premiering Tuesday, September 13 on Bounce TV at 10/9c.
